Financial fiasco - Tanker Refueling contract stolen

This week the Air Force awarded Air Bus of Europe a 45 billion dollar
contract for building a new fleet of refueling tankers. The rub of the
story is that Air Bus was competing with American based Boeing Corp
who were convinced they would win the contract.

Both planes seemed equal in many ways. Investigative stories
actually gave the nod to Boeing. But it didnt turn out that way.
Apparently Dutch Royal banks will be providing a large percentage
of this defecit spending and therefore have applied leverage
on the Administration and key Congressional members, enough that
the brass of the USAF has chosen Air Bus.

This is a similiar lesson to the stimulous package recently
passed, the total 162 Billion. All of this money is borrowed
from Asian banks. Most of the stimulous money will be returned
to China in goods purchased and debt will be carried by the US
taxpayers (were borrowing money to buy foreign goods.

And polls show that most who 'wont be spending' are choosing to
pay down debt. Which on its surface sounds good, but most of the
firms on Wall Street today are heavily in debt to Asian and
Middle Eastern banks, they stand to get a lions share also.

So, who is really profiting from all of this borrowing?

Economic Stimulous

Its 2008, an election year. The economy has been terrible for
the middle class for years, ten years of contraction, then,
tremendous trade deficits, if you wanted blue collar work,
you would have to move, their wasnt much in the rust belt.

This week, both parties announce a stimulous package
worth about 143 billion, by the time it passes, its
162 billion, just another windfall for Wallstreet and Asia.

Unemployment is predicted to reach double digits, it could be
an ugly year!

Holidays 2005

It's been a while since I posted a blog, times sure are
moving fast, so many things going on, some right, some
Im not so sure..

The kids are still a handful, Jenny and Jackie both
wrecked their cars several weeks ago, Jackie just got
hers back last Wednesday, I havent seen her since,
and Jenny is still looking. I dont think she is put-
ting much effort in it, so I think I'll start helping
her..

Jordan is anxiously waiting for Christmas... she wants
a picture phone, actually, I think all the girls do..

Oh my God... I should get stock in Cingular...lol

I recently finished tiling the bathroom. I'd like to get
the house up for sale now. Its been up for sale by
owner, but no nibbles. I think its time to get a Realtor.
I have had Debbie Lewison here several times from
Remax, she seems like a great Agent to start with...

A lot of things have happened since last updating this blog, we have an assault on middle class programs, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. We can thank our conservative friends from Texas.

Theirs a young lady named Terry Shivo who's husband has won a court ruling allowing him to pull her life sustaining food and water.. I suspect she'll die by the end of the week. Bless her... There seems to be a battle between the Christians and the Secularists. I would say the Secularist's have one this battle..

We have a new lab pupply, his name is Cole. He was born on February 3rd 2005.

A relatively slow day today. Worked a few minutes on repotting some plants... cut a few fence posts tops off.. swept a little around the garage and drive...

Illinois extended their winning streak today to 25 and 0. Woohoo.. It looks the the big ten title is all sewn up... Go Illinois!

Mardi Gras Parade - St. Louis Missouri

You just never know what type of weather your going to get around the midwest, but Saturday, February 5th was one of the best I remember for a parade, mostly sunny, a slight breeze and around 68 degrees...

We arrived early at the Ford dealership, the same one we have parked at now for the past several years, if your ever at the Mardi Gras parade, stop in and see us, we'll be in the old Titan Motorhome, the dealership is located at 7th and Broadway... We convinced a couple young men to move their car and coolers so we could park in the lot..

Most of the morning was spent mingling with friends and laughing about parades of the past...

The parade was long, lots of beads, lots of yelling .. I snapped about 54 pictures... keep your eye on the blog.. pictures linked soon... woohoo!

Class - Java February 1, 2005

The first 3 chapters have been tough... almost like a foreign language. Cheryl's very patient, but I think she is having a hard time conveying the syntax to the class, it's not that easy to comprehend...

Im going to need to start reviewing blackboard a little more frequently, I missed two hand in assignments last week, fortunately there is an exam due now, but I have until Sunday to complete it. Breaks over, time to get back to the Power Point presentation and watch some of the Illinois game.. Check out Collegesports.com

Note: February 8th, just finished installing the environment for Java.. this is definately going to be a struggle, not quite like Visual Basic, and a far cry from Cobol..

Weekend Project - Attic Subfloor

Central Illinois weather, you just never know what your going to get, today it looks like were going to get a dusting of snow.

We had planned on putting a sub-floor in the attic, we got the lumber early, along with an inch of snow, so I've covered the lumber at least until a little later in the day, now its time to head out and clean up the water mess in the garage..

More updates on this adventure later. It seems like every project I attempt it has a '3 stooges' parity in it somewhere..... lol

21:38, all in all, not a bad day.. no accidents other than the bumped head on a truss or two, I think I forgot the tape measure in the attic a couple times...lol, but that was about it.. the snow did cause somewhat of mess in front of the Garage door, seemed like the sawdust wanted to mix with even the lightest of snow. Its nothing a good hosing wont clean tomorrow.. now off to bed to watch a little boob tube, man, I am stiffer than the osb I put up today.. lol

A second day was needed, the floor was down, that was half the battle, the rest of the work involved getting everything up in the attic.. It was very rewarding to pull my truck in the garage.. glad I let Launa persuade me so that we could get it done...

Another night of sleeping like a baby, sore knee's and a stiff back! Actually getting back to work sounds pretty good right now... lol

I received Jenny's report card today, wow, 4 A's and 1 B... thats great... Way to go Jenny... now get some more math!

And the turn around, Jenny has really matured since we started meeting with Elaine. I think Jenny may be taking her advise, something she just refused to take from the parents...

Central Illinois Weather - January 22, 2005

Since my intent is to maintain my blog, I thought I would post todays weather, and since Im doing that I might as well publish our schedule!

Today's weather included a 'wind advisory', and how correct weather.com was. Gusts outside have been in the range of 25 - 40 miles per hour. The snow predictions were a little short, but we received a good dusting.

Todoays itinerary includes a little shopping, a little working out, maybe a tan and then late this afternoon we think we are going out to a couple of clubs on the Lake.

Today just happens to be the frozen open with nine (9) clubs participating, each having its own little social gathering at the end of the day. We thought we would stop by the Firemans club and check out - new found friend Mikie' and then hit the Ski and Boat Club on our way home early this evening.. isnt that an appropriate name on such a cold and blistery day 'The Frozen Open'.

Not interesting, wrather elementry. I dont want to interupt the teacher, so I'll finish my blog later this evening... p.e. This first sentence was pecked out with one finger during class, I didnt want to be rude and make any noise, so I just left my attitude in of the class in the first sentence. I enrolled in Java I for the Spring 05 semester, besides needing the class, I thought It would help keep my skilsets current. Unfortunately, the class is for beginning programmers. :(

MLK- Holiday

Todays January 17th, were off work due to the Holiday, to be honest were not sure how we should be 'honoring' the civil rights leader. There is a march downtown today, but the weather is brutal, I think the temp is only going to be near 10, I seriously doubt if we'll make it..

Todays schedule does include going to Menards, I'd like to look at some floor tile, we have lenolium in several rooms and we would like to upgrade it to real ceramic. A little investment in the tile and some elbow grease is about all it will take to continue to improve the quality of our home. Hopefully within a couple years we'll be able to turn a couple bucks on the house, if we can build enough equity and value in the home, eventually we would like to move to the Lake - there goes the neighborhood..lol

The football games were boring yesterday, similiar to those on Saturday, I think the teams with the best defense won. but hey; just this modest' guys opinion.

What disappointment

Yesterdays activities didnt quite go like we had hoped. The Rams were beaten handily, we missed Gary and Mary, we didnt even stop by. The party was loud and sometimes contemptous... I guess were getting just a little older. The talk of the night was vacations and boating.. at this time around here with the frigid temperatures, all sounded great. Cmon Spring.

Jackies Butt Chewing

Today I chewed Jackies butt for getting an Incomplete on her reading and comprehension class. She said she tried, but apparently the instructor thought otherwise. We followed up by discussing what can be done so she can possibly get credit, at this time, an Incomplete is converted to an 'F' if the student 'does nothing'.

Today we intend to visit friends Gary & Mary Vogt,
G&M have just recently purchased a new home in Springfield.

We'll stop and drop off a house warming gift, Im sure it will
be something consumable - 'spirits' in nature.

Later this afternoon we are attending a shower at the Ski and Boat Club for Carl Long and wife, we'll watch the Illinois game at 3:30 which is immediately followed by the Rams game at 8:00. Gooooo Rams!
